An article I read today about web based teaching. More support for blogging in that you can do what the article recommends with out the computer wizard training.
I found some information on language teaching and one of the techniques they recommend is ritualistic repetition of verbs and tenses, just like the Latin teacher in Dead Poets Society. Some old stuff still works best. Maybe if I stay up all night I can get this stupid scholardly review of my interview done and then get onto the lesson plans. Yikes!!

Check out this articles on blogging! The idea appeals to me because it represents a reflection of a desire to have the internet as a free resource accessable to all not just those with huge gobs of money. This extends to the use of technology for education. As long as instituions have to pay 800,000 for WBCT and high priced salaries for the technocrats to run it will not be cheap. Blogging represents a way to do the same things with out the clunky, expensive courseware programs. Seems to be pissing off some with vested interests.

Anonymous comments is cool as long as no one gets too cruel. There is one other feature that I'm trying to figure out right now. Thats the "Blogthis" button that you can install on your browser so that if you see a web site you want to share while you are surfing you can just hit the Blogthis button and it auto matically links it to your blog. Once again if any one is reading ahead in the help notes and has it figured out, give it a go and let the rest of us know.
Heard MJ on the radio this AM but didn't catch the gist of the article. Woke me right up when I heard her byline.

Well there is a comment option on this blog now. When you look at the web page, just behind the post is a hot link labeled shout out. When you hit it a dialogue box comes up and lets you make comments about a post. It seems to work and it was easy to set up but I think I'll keep looking for a way to set up a threaded discussion.

Check out this page. A discussion of discussion groups. I have to figure out how to enable threaded discussions for this blog. If anybody wants to read ahead in the help and tutorials on the Blogger.com page please do so and let me know. All I did to link this site was to highlight the url of a page, hit control C to copy, then in the blogger message high light the word I wanted to trigger the link, and then hit the link button up beside the B and I. This pulls up a dialogue box where you put the cursor and hit Control V which pastes the url into the link. Easy as pie! Then just hit post and publish and the link should be active on the main web page. Go to view web page and check it out.

When you "post" a message it gets recorded in the bottom half of the blogger page and you can go back to it by hitting the edit hot spot. When you do "post and publish" it also puts it on the web page which is at BlogSpot. Cynthia maybe that's what happened to your post at 8:14. All you have to do once the message is to your liking is say post and publish.

Okay now that I've posted my first message, I see that the time is all out of wack. According to my watch it is 10:15 and my first posting was at 8:14, I was not on-line then. Cynthia
